I am rewriting my review if anything just to delete the comments of overzealous people on here. The review process is supposed to be for people to honestly write what THEY think about the product purchased. For people to come on and go into long soap boxes and crucify the reviewer for being honest means that the review process is not being followed as intended.
I rated this one star. People seemed to have HUGE issues with this. The rating system is as follows:
1 star is for if you hate the item. 2 stars is for if you don't like it. 3 stars equals that you think it's just ok. and so on...
I put one star because I hated the book. I thought it was totally sappy and boring. The sentiment is very sweet but the way it's written just comes across as overly sappy. I am not a hard person, and can be tender and easily melted by my children. I refer to them as love, lovey, and lovely ALL the time. This doesn't mean that I would assume that a book is sappy because it contains the words "my love" in the title. It could just just as easily mean that the book is sweet without being sappy, or that a parent considers their child to be their little love, etc. However, because there seems to be so much anger directed towards me for not liking this book (and saying so!), I am changing the review to a two star, which means I don't like it. This is not some aggressive statement about gender roles, or being sweet with your kids! I'm simply stating that I don't like the book. None of my kids (several children from 2 - 7 years old) liked the book. They all thought it was boring and silly. Take it however you may, but please don't sit and pummel me with comments about how I shouldn't rate this with one or two stars just because you disagree.
