Direct download links available Download Epub Eyes on Target: Inside Stories from the Brotherhood of the U.S. Navy SEALs from mediafire, rapishare, and mirror link Told through the eyes of current and former Navy SEALs, EYES ON TARGET is an inside account of some of the most harrowing missions in American history-including the mission to kill Osama bin Laden and the mission that wasn't, the deadly attack on the US diplomatic outpost in Benghazi where a retired SEAL sniper with a small team held off one hundred terrorists while his repeated radio calls for help went unheeded.

The book contains incredible accounts of major SEAL operations-from the violent birth of SEAL Team Six and the aborted Operation Eagle Claw meant to save the hostages in Iran, to key missions in Iraq and Afganistan where the SEALs suffered their worst losses in their fifty year history-and every chapter illustrates why this elite military special operations unit remains the most feared anti-terrorist force in the world.

We hear reports on the record from retired SEAL officers including Lt. Cmdr. Richard Marcinko, the founder of SEAL Team Six, and a former Commander at SEAL team Six, Ryan Zinke, and we come away understanding the deep commitment of these military men who put themselves in danger to protect our country and save American lives. In the face of insurmountable odds and the imminent threat of death, they give all to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

No matter the situation, on duty or at ease, SEALs never, ever give up. One powerful chapter in the book tells the story of how one Medal of Honor winner saved another, the only time this has been done in US military history.

EYES ON TARGET includes these special features:
  • A detailed timeline of events during the Benghazi attack
  • Sample rescue scenarios from a military expert who believes that help could have reached the Benghazi compound in time
  • The US House Republican Conference Interim Progress Report on the events surrounding the September 11, 2012 Terrorist Attacks in Benghazi
Through their many interviews and unique access, Scott McEwen and Richard Miniter pull back the veil that has so often concealed the heroism of these patriots. They live by a stringent and demanding code of their own creation, keeping them ready to ignore politics, bureaucracy and-if necessary-direct orders. They share a unique combination of character, intelligence, courage, love of country and what can only be called true grit.

They are the Navy SEALs, and they keep their Eyes on Target. Direct download links available for Download Epub Eyes on Target: Inside Stories from the Brotherhood of the U.S. Navy SEALs [Kindle Edition]

There are a few issues here and there, but the biggest issue is the assumption the authors seem to be making with regard to political correctness. The damage done by political correctness is far less finite than the authors allow. It is destroying "Big Navy", as well as the other branches of the service. In fact it's destroying our nation. I did 20 years in the "Big Navy". I personally saw how political correctness emasculated and decayed the Navy. That coupled with elitism from some of the officers, perhaps most of them. Navy Chiefs used to have real authority, but they allowed the officer corps to emasculate them, all the time talking trash about how important they were. The military functions best when there is respect up and down the chain of command, and when ever possible real t debate and deliberation which is inclusive rather than exclusive.

There is far too much selfishness, which is encouraged in order to entice and control subordinates into submission. There are too many B.S. programs, programs which allow those in power to assist to the point of gun-decking qualifications for the anointed, and making it difficult for others. I saw the start of many of these programs. They were less political at inception, but I knew where they would end up because I understand human nature. Having 2 sons who served, one of whom is still in, I have been able through them to confirm my suspicions concerning these programs. While manners and respect are always important, the shift of emphasis from work performance to being politically correct has greatly impacted ALL branches and all units within each branch.
Eyes on Target is a rehash of all the Navy SEAL books that have come out recently and I will explain. Let me first state that I am an avid reader of Navy SEAL books and own about 20 oriented books about the Teams. This is the main reason I know that it is just rehashed material and the reason I feel my opinion needs to be expressed with this review. Eyes on Target simply summarizes the main Navy SEAL stories hitting the headlines within the last couple of years plus stories that has been circulated for years:

-The Navy SEALs beginnings
-The creation of SEAL Team Six
-Operation Red Wings
-Fallujah (Persecutions of 3 Navy SEALs by our own government for false accusations of detainee abuse)
-Benghazi, Libya (Talks about what happened and how we could have prevented it).
-The Bin Laden Raid
-----------------------------
It offers no new insights into anything that other books didn't go in depth with. For the chapter of Operation Red Wings substitute the book Lone Survivor which is 390 pages of the mission by someone who was there (Marcus Luttrell) and who goes in extreme detail of what happened instead of skimming it like an afterthought.

To look into the Navy SEALs beginnings look no further than Greg E. Mathieson Sr./ David Gatley's book United States Naval Special Warfare U.S. Navy SEALs. A huge book that goes through the Team's humble beginnings even before the UDT's of the WW2 and how the Teams came into existence. (Although this book has many punctuation and grammatical errors >:-( )

The Benghazi Libya section was the most in depth of the book but I feel other books was better such as Benghazi: The Definitive Report.

For the Bin Laden look to No Easy Day.
