There is no bigger issue for healthy infants than sleeping through the night. In this simple, straightforward book, Suzy Giordano presents her amazingly effective "Limited-Crying Solution" that will get any baby to sleep for twelve hours at night - and three hours in the day - by the age of twelve weeks old.
Giordano is the mother of five children and one of the most sought-after baby sleep specialists in the country. The Washington Post calls her a baby sleep "guru" and "an underground legend in the Washington area for her ability to teach newborns how to achieve that parenting nirvana: sleeping through the night." Her sleep plan has been tested with singletons, twins, triplets, babies with special needs, and colicky babies - and it has never failed.
Whether you are pregnant, first-time parents, or parents who seek a different path with your second or third child, anyone can benefit from the Baby Coach's popular system of regular feeding times, twelve hours of sleep at night and three hours of sleep during the day, and the peace of mind that comes with taking the parent and child out of a sleep-deprived world.

This book has changed our lives. However, I realize it may not be for everyone. Therefore, I'm going to break down the essence of the book and the pros and cons.
AUTHOR'S MAIN POINT:
Feed the baby all of its calories during a 12-hour period during the day, and no more frequently than every 4 hours. After you have that down, wean the baby off of night feedings (if applicable). After that, let the baby sleep approximately one hour for a mid-morning nap, and two hours for a mid-afternoon nap. No naps between the third and fourth (final) feeding of the day. Once you have this set, the baby should be sleeping for approximately 10-12 hours per night, uninterrupted.
PROS:
1) It has worked for us like a charm. After just the third day of feeding our child every four hours during the day and only feeding during the day, he slept for 12 hours. This pattern continued! It has been pretty amazing for us. We didn't even have to do the other steps to get him to sleep 12 hours, though these other steps fell into place eventually.
2) Predictable schedule. We didn't start this until 3 months, and before that, we were feeding our child on demand. It was really nice to know when meal times were going to be (we picked 8 am, 12 pm, 4 pm, and 8 pm).
3) Happier baby. At least in our case, our baby is happier having a routine.
4) No nighttime wakings. Did I mention that already?!
5) This worked even for our very clingy baby, and it did not involve any crying-it-out, at least for us. I was shocked that he took so well to it.
CONS AND CAVEATS:
1) Our child is prone to get just a little bit cranky just before the last feeding of the day.
